Prayer

The Prayer for Protection

The light of God surrounds me;
The love of God enfolds me;
The power of God protects me;
The presence of God watches over me.
Wherever I am, God is!

The Prayer for Protection was written by the late James Dillet Freeman, poet laureate of the Unity movement and director of Silent Unity, Unity’s worldwide prayer ministry.

Unity is a ministry founded on the power of prayer

Whether you are already an important part of our spiritual family or not, we consider it a blessing to pray with you.

If you are experiencing circumstances in your life, or in the life of a loved one, that calls out for prayer, please fill out a prayer request and we will add you to our prayer list. On Sundays, our prayer chaplains are available to pray with you individually.

Should you be in the hospital and want someone to call you and/or pray with you, please call the church at 561-741-6515. We also invite you to join us for our Wednesday noon prayer service for healing prayer and meditation.

Want someone to pray with you right now?

You can reach Silent Unity,  our movement’s worldwide prayer ministry, any time of the night or day by calling 1-800-669-7729. Every request to Silent Unity also is kept confidential and receives loving, compassionate attention.

Prayer Chaplain Program

Prayer chaplains are available at the close of every service to pray with individuals. The role of a Prayer Chaplain is to hold spiritual space, listen from the heart, pray with others, and hold in confidence what is shared.

To volunteer to be a Prayer Chaplain you will become an integral part of the church, enriching individuals spiritual wellbeing immeasurably. Prayer Chaplains agree to take on certain responsibilities, such as:

  • Make a one-year commitment to serve

  • Maintain a personal prayer life

  • Make visitations, when available

  • Communicate regularly with the Prayer Chaplain Trainer

  • Attend a mandatory orientation, training sessions and monthly training meetings
